Who Do You Believe?

Here is a scenario for you: On the one hand, you have a man who, among other things, has had a stranglehold on a political party for over three decades, has been the subject of numerous political controversies and scandals, under whose watch we have seen the status of millions of Malaysians of Indian ancestry deteriorate. A man who pledged his allegiance to a dictator who eroded our civil liberties, corrupted our political culture and gave us a full fledged racist society.

On the other hand you have a squeaky clean chief minister of a state that is on the rebound. After years of domination by the BN government which squandered the state’s potential, this current chief minister happens to be rescuing the state and working in the spirit of social justice for all to revitalise the economy and civil society in the state.

When each one speaks, who do you find believable? Who do you trust? If you had to put your future and the future of your children in either man’s hands, whom would you have confidence in? If your home and livelihood depended on it, do you know who you would trust for being reliable, competent, and conscientious?

Whether you are or are not a resident of Kampung Buah Pala, I ask you, which man do you find believable?

I think if you were honest with yourself, you’d have no hesitation with the answer.

I rest my case.
